the closest approximation of styles used to describe this beer is a hybrid of american ipa and a schwarzbier. the malt foundation is comprised of premium 2 row, medium crystal, and de-bittered black malt. the hop profile is robust and contributed by columbus, amarillo and cascade hops. the result of this recipe is roast flavor, citrusy, pungent hop flavor and aroma, without the typical astringency associated with black beers.
