Micropub – Now Open

It’s true. The micropub is open. Expanded details coming shortly.

It’s nice to be liked.

Every now and then we like to refer to outside sources to validate our existence. So here’s a special shout out to Pat Muir at the Yakima Herald for the mad props, or is it mad skillz? We’re probably not cool enough to use that vernacular. Anyhow, here’s a link to his post talking about our new 509 Style beer:

“Enter Ellensburg’s Iron Horse Brewery and its 509 Pale Ale, formerly known as Rodeo Pale Ale. Finally, we can get tipsy on the fire escape while showing our area-code pride.

From the company’s press release: “Greg Parker, co-owner of Iron Horse Brewery, when commenting on the origins of the new name said, ‘We like people from the West Side and respect their refined beer palates, but we wanted to salute the roots of our brewery, as well as the hops, malt and farmers that produce them.’ He points out that, ’509 style is made in the 509 (area code), with ingredients grown in the 509, and a flavor profile suitable to the 509. And while the greater population density rests in the western half of the state, we all owe gratitude to the fertile soil and farmers, growing hops and barley in the eastern half.’”

Micropub

Due to some technical difficulties, including a little flood, our opening date has been pushed back. We are hoping to be up and running sometime next week.

Iron Horse Micropub!!

Since we realize that there is actually nothing that grand about us, we are just going to open. Yep, one day towards the end of July you will be walking down main street and realize that the Iron Horse Micropub is open for business. Then, several weeks later, the stools should be there for people to sit on. The lawn chairs will be in the beer garden from day one though. We promise.

Ale to the Female

this month we will take you through the fascinating process of making beer. and then of course, we will serve you delicious food, paired with iron horse beer. july 12, 6-8 pm. sorry, no boys allowed. hurry, only 15 spaces available.

Dads drink beer too.

It may come as a shock, but even Dads like to drink a beer now and then, that’s why on this Father’s day – Sunday, June 20th, PINTS are $3.00 and Samplers are $4.50. Just to be clear, Samplers = samplers of our beer, not samplers of Dads, although that’s not a bad idea.

Anyhow, if you are a dad, know dad, want to be a dad, think you might be a dad but are awaiting the paternity test, etc., then come down to the tasting room on Father’s day and enjoy some beer.
