Time for the next former employee feature where we highlight one of our fine cousins (what we call our employees) who has left us and moved on to a new place in their working life.

Name: Sabrina Enders

Iron Horse Brewery: Position at Iron Horse Brewery?
Sabrina Enders: I did all the things. I started as a server in [ the pub ], then worked in the kitchen a bit. I co-hosted IHB’s awesome podcast with some of my rad cousins. I worked a handful of events. Rounded the whole experience out with 6 months of HR for IHB. Woot for all the things!
IHB: Your LinkedIn listing must be quite lengthy.

IHB: What years did you work at Iron Horse Brewery?
SE: June 2016 to August 2018.
IHB: Almost 2 full years.
IHB: What is your favorite IHB beer?
SE: Finger Gun forever. But Cozy Sweater too.  ðŸ˜
IHB: Cozy Sweater is coming out soon… how are you going to get some now that you’re gone?

IHB: Where do you work now?
SE: I work for a private school that educates children ages 6 weeks to 8th grade.
IHB: Neat. That is a very different crowd than you worked with at IHB.

IHB: What do you do at the school?
SE: I am the lead teacher in their oldest classroom in the infant and toddler program. So lots of serving snacks, cleaning up spills, teaching colors, helping people use their words… a lot of the same stuff I did at the pub actually 😜
IHB: Ok, so different crowd same job. We get it now.

IHB: How are you doing better now that you’ve moved on from IHB?
SE: I am using that Masters degree that I spent so much time and money on, so that’s great. I also get to see my better half every day, which means a lot to both of us. I’m getting time with my east coast family, which was long overdue. All in all, it was a good move.
IHB: Without you here Slops is finally getting to live out his dream of being a podcast host. So he’s doing better too.

IHB: Is there one thing that working at Iron Horse Brewery helped you to get where you are now?
SE:learned a lot about myself and how I work with others while I was at IHB. I learned that my best bet in communicating with people is being very straightforward, and I also learned that some people don’t respond super well to that while others really appreciate it
IHB: Conversely, how did we ruin things for you?
SE:drank too much free beer and can’t seem to drop the mini keg that consequently appeared on my belly, so thanks for that 😜

IHB: What is your favorite mythical creature?
SE: Toddlers who listen to you the first time? Does that count?  😂😂
IHB: It absolutely counts because we also have never experienced this in real life.

IHB: What is your most memorable moment at IHB?
SE: Gosh this ones tough. There were so many memorable moments and I got to spend my time with so many wonderful people. I will never forget the awesome bottle share podcast we did at Paul and Rikki’s house. Alex’s exploding home brew was a fantastic thing to behold.
IHB: We haven’t really talked about glitter beer since you left.

IHB: On a scale of 1 to 10.3 how much do you miss working at Iron Horse.
SE: Honestly, I miss spending time with my cousins (like a 10billion on that scale), but the work itself I’d pass on. I belong in a classroom.
IHB: We thought you’d say the part you missed the most is drinking beer all day… we imagine you can’t do that at your new job though you probably need a beer more after a long day. Come visit us for a beer next time you visit your west coast family.
